Top student employees honored

Ten outstanding student workers were recognized for their contributions to the university with the presentation of the Gerald F. Scanlon Student Employee of the Year Awards on May 2. The awards were presented by Chancellor Robert Holub at a reception at the Marriott Center in the Campus Center.

The winners are Alexandra Ahlstedt, College of Engineering; Kristine Alach, Student Union Craft Center; Ariana Bevilacqua, Office of Commercial Ventures and Intellectual Property; Andrew Considine, Center for Student Business; Dean Curran, Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations; Ariel Geist, Commonwealth Honors College; Vernaldi Metayer, Parking Services; Trung Jonnei Nguyen, Student Affairs Information Technology Services; Rafaella Sampaio, UMass Hotel at the Campus Center, and Gregory Steele, Transit Services.

The awardees received certificates of appreciation and $500.
