Shea recognized for excellence in graduate education

Linda Shea, professor of Hospitality and Tourism Management, has won this year's Graduate Faculty Teaching Award from the Northeastern Association of Graduate Schools.

The award recognizes “excellence and creativity in the teaching of graduate students, including innovation in graduate curriculum development and implementation.”

The association’s members include 130 public and private graduate institutions in the northeastern and mid-Atlantic United States and eastern Canada. Each member school was allowed to nominate one candidate for the award, which recognizes both online and on-campus teaching. Shea will be honored at the association’s annual conference in Montreal in April.

Shea earned her Ph.D. in marketing from the University of Colorado in Boulder. Her teaching and research focus on consumer expectations and service quality, complaint behavior and service recovery, services marketing, and resort marketing management. She is her department’s former graduate program director, current Ph.D. program coordinator and a former Lily Teaching Fellow.
