Bernhard discusses green online studies at UCEA meeting
J. Gary Bernhard, program manager for University Without Walls’ Sustainable Entrepreneurship concentration, was a panelist at the regional fall conference of the University Continuing Education Association (UCEA) held Oct. 28-30 in Hyannis.
The theme of the conference was “Endorsing the New Decade – Working Green, Working Lean.”
Bernhard was part of a panel discussing “How Green Online Achieves More for Less.”
“Challenging times require fresh ideas and a renewed sense of purpose,” said the conference program. “As we confront the many and significant issues designed for colleges and universities who are just beginning their efforts in the ‘green jobs’ programming area. The concepts presented here will be particularly relevant for those adult and continuing education professionals responsible for certificate programs, professional/workforce development programs, and adult degree programs.”
Other presenters at the conference included Chad McGuire, program director of the online post-baccalaureate Environmental Policy Certificate Program, and Joy McGuirl-Hadley, associate vice chancellor of Professional and Continuing Education, both from UMass Dartmouth; and Jennifer Brady, director of marketing for UMassOnline.
