“Four Seasons Around Our Valley,” an exhibit of photographs by Elisa Campbell, staff assistant at the Office of Information Technologies, is on display through June at the Northampton Cooperative Bank on Triangle Street in Amherst.
The show includes photographs taken through the seasons of the Holyoke Range, Mount Tom, the Mount Toby area and Amherst.
“I have been exploring the possibilities and limitations of both film and digital images,” says Campbell. “My particular fascination is the light at dawn on our regional landscape features. Several of these photographs are panoramic views of our local scenes from two or more images. Others are of trees, particularly in winter with the sun low in the sky and the contrast of snow. Their calm nobility and vivid life truly stand out and amaze me then.”
