Nagurney gives plenary talk at conference in New Zealand
Isenberg School of Management professor Anna Nagurney gave a plenary talk at the 19th International Conference on Multiple Criteria Decision Making held Jan. 8-12 in Auckland, New Zealand.
Nagurney, who is the John F. Smith Memorial Professor, spoke on “Multicriteria Decision-Making for the Environment: Sustainability and Vulnerability Analysis of Critical Infrastructure Systems from Transportation Networks to Electric Power Supply Chains.”
Registrants from 37 different countries attended the conference at the University of Auckland. The theme of the conference was Multicriteria Decision-Making for Sustainable Energy and Transportation Systems. The motivation for the conference was that climate change and other environmental impacts of human economy activity necessitate the consideration of conflicting goals in decision making to develop sustainable systems.
Nagurney was one of two plenary speakers. Her presentation is available online.
Nagurney was hosted by professor Matthias Ehrgott of the school of engineering at the University of Auckland, who was the organizer of the conference. The conference welcome activities included a ceremony by the Maori, the indigenous people of New Zealand.
