Manning addresses environmental forum in China
Professor William J. Manning of Plant, Soil and Insect Sciences gave the opening invited plenary lecture on the role of trees in reducing air pollutants and improving life quality in cities at the First Xiamen International Forum on Urban Environment held Nov. 28-29 in Xiamen, China.
The forum was held to mark the occasion of the establishment of a new Institute of Urban Environment by the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Urban forests will play a key role in succession to sustainability in Chinese cities and metropolitan areas, said Manning.
