Support groups offered by Center for Women & Community
The Center for Women & Community this semester is offering three support groups for female-identified people to gain empowering skills."Mindfulness and Mood: Empowerment Skills for Women," a five-week support group in a safe and supportive place on Tuesday nights, is being offered with the Graduate Women's Network. Participants will gain skills that to help reduce anxiety, improve mood and relationships, relax one's body, quiet the mind and gain greater emotional balance. Contact Mary at 545-0883.
"Support, Connect, Heal," explore healing with other survivors in a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space. This group will focus on topics including isolation, shame, self-worth, triggers, trust, relationships and the after-effects of trauma. The group will learn coping and self-care strategies. The group will meet Tuesday nights this semester, and will make any necessary accommodations to help attendees, including providing funds for childcare. Contact Jen at 545-5834.
"Share Your Strength Storytelling Support Group" provides a space for female-identified survivors to share their stories and create a community of healing. In addition, the group will discuss healing, breaking silence, coping, self care, isolation, trauma, and other topics that impact the lives of survivors. Women of all abilities, ages, classes, ethnicities, orientations, races, and religions are welcome. Funds are available for childcare, and the center will make any necessary accommodations for particiipants with a disability or requirements. The group will meet Tuesday nights.
