New course proposals

 The following new course proposals have been submitted to the Faculty Senate Office for review and approval and are listed here for faculty review and comment. Comments on any new course proposal should be submitted to Ernest May, secretary of the Faculty Senate, at senate@senate.umass.edu.

OIM 451, “Project and Information Management” 3 credits; Instructor: Traci J. Hess; Provides an introduction to project management, focusing on the integration of business operations and information management, and techniques to effectively manage the implementation of such projects. Prerequisites: None

OIM 452, “Business Processes and Enterprise Systems” 3 credits; Instructor: Traci J. Hess; Exposes students to core business processes and how these processes are implemented with enterprise resource planning systems in organizational settings. The key business processes covered include procurement, fulfillment, and production. Prerequisites: None

OIM 453, “Business Intelligence and Analytics” 3 credits; Instructor: Traci J. Hess; Provides an introduction to Business Intelligence, including the processes, methodologies, data warehousing infrastructure, and current practices used to transform business data into useful information and support business decision-making. Prerequisites: None
