Gordon's articles published in two journals
Daniel Gordon, History professor and associate dean of the Commonwealth Honors College, published two journal articles in September.
"The Confidence Factor in Liberal Education" appeared in Liberal Education. According to the publication's website, "Liberal Education, the flagship journal of the Association of American Colleges and Universities, expresses the voices of educators, faculty, administrators, and others who are working to enrich liberal learning and undergraduate education. The national forum about liberal education, the journal covers a full range of topics related to teaching and learning, leadership, faculty innovation, and institutional change."
The second article, co-authored with Peter Baehr, is titled "On the Edge of Solidarity: The Burqa and Public Life" and appeared in Society, which describes itself as "the international periodical of record in social science and public policy ... Society publishes new ideas and research findings drawn from all the social sciences, and presented in a readable and useful manner. It is aimed at decision makers and others concerned with trends in modern society."
