What is the Faculty and
Staff Assistance Program (FSAP)?
The FSAP provides free and confidential assessment, brief counseling, and referrals to help resolve a broad range of personal, work, and family problems for all UMass employees.
Your immediate family members are also eligible to use the FSAP free of charge. If something is troubling you or your family member, it might be beneficial to talk about your concern, in confidence, with the licensed professionals at FSAP.
How confidential is the
FSAP?
FSAP counselors carefully adhere to professional standards of ethics and confidentiality. Appointments and services are confidential to the fullest extent permitted by law. All records are kept separate from any medical or personnel records.
How can the FSAP help?
FSAP counselors often talk with people experiencing a wide range of personal, family, or
work-related problems including:
Marital or relationship difficulties
Parenting or eldercare
Substance abuse and other addictions
Threats of violence
Health-related issues
Loss and grief

Career
Domestic

Your feelings about a situation can also be used as a

about them with a FSAP counselor.

Any circumstance that is of concern to you is
