Off-Campus Programs and Services
Though we are based at the largest worksite in western Massachusetts, the University of Massachusetts/Amherst, we also provide workplace and communtiy education programs throughout the Commonwealth. Our off-campus programs and services include a diverse array of classes, workshops, workplace needs assessments, grant writing and research services to employers, unions, communities, organizations and institutions who are interested upgrading the skills of their employees or members. SOUTHERN HILLTOWNS ADULT EDUCATION CENTER (SHAEC)
SHAEC is now in it's 7th year as a service to adults in Huntington and Chester. We offer free instructions in reading, writing, math and computers for GED preparation or workplace and personal skill development. Our Media Literacy Program supports the use of computer, video, print and other media as tools in the learning process. The center operates the Southern Hilltowns Computer Center with 7 on-line networked computers and weekly drop-in hours for instruction and individual use.
