Residence Halls will close at 8:00pm on Thursday, May 11, 2017 for the spring semester.
Traffic patterns including one-way designations for streets, concourse travel and loading zones will change on Thursday, May 11th for Southwest, Sylvan and CHCRC.
*Please note vehicle height restrictions for Southwest and CHCRC one-way routes.
Parents and students without a parking permit are only allotted 20 minutes to load their vehicle for Move-Out. All vehicles parking on campus must purchase a valid parking permit or pay to use a parking facility (garage or meters). Permits may be purchased in advance or same day from either Parking Services location.

Visitor parking options:
- Park at a meter or at a paystation-metered space. The current rate is $1.50/hr.
- Park in the Campus Center Parking Garage. The current rate is $1.75/hr.
- Obtain a visitor's pass from Parking Services for $6.00 a day.
- Long-term visitors may wish to purchase a Yellow Lot permit from Parking Services.
Access to Move-Out bins
Move-Out bins will be available in Southwest, CHCRC, Sylvan, North and Orchard Hill. Staff will set up centralized locations in these areas to sign out bins throughout closing week. Click on the tab above for information about using bins.
Donating Used Items
UMass provides sustainable options for Move-Out through the New2U Move-Out Collection. Donation locations will be available between Monday, May 8th and Sunday, May 14th in Southwest, Orchard Hill, North Apartments, and Sylvan. Students can drop off items they no longer need such as furniture, clothing, lamps, and electronics.
All other areas will have Goodwill bins available to donate used apparel, electronics, linens, and decorative items in good condition between May 5th and May 14th.

Do you need Permission To Stay Late? Students with a legitimate need can submit a request to stay after halls close on May 11th at 8:00pm. You can find more information on the Permission to Stay Late website.
Mail Delivery ends on May 11th. Please remember to update your mailing address in SPIRE and with any online stores prior to leaving for the semester. What happens to your mail after May 11th?
Complete a Proper Check Out! If you fail to broom clean your room, return your key and complete a proper checkout you will be charged additional fees. If you have any questions about Check Out, visit our Check In Check Out web page or ask your Residential Service Desk for information.

Need a Storage Unit? Check local availability as soon as possible.
Please Note: if you plan to have items delivered by a storage vendor during Move-In, the vendor will not be permitted on campus until after Move-In has ended for that day.
