Residential Services Student Positions

Available Positions | Application Process

Residential Services employs many students throughout the academic year and summer to help maintain and improve our residence halls. Student employees will be based at either West (Southwest/CHCRC) or East (Ohill/Cental/Northeast/Sylvan/North) Residence Halls. Students interested in working over the summer must be enrolled for at least 6 credits for the fall semester.

Academic Year and Summer Positions

Housing Operations Crew

Starting salary: Consistent with Massachusetts minimum wage
AY Work Schedule:  Flexible shifts M-F 7:00am-3:00pm
Summer Work Schedule: M-F 7:00am-3:00pm 37.5 hours per week

Duties include:

  • Install, inspect, and repair furniture for student rooms, lounges, and staff apartments in Residence Halls
  • Deliver ordered material and supplies throughout area
  • Transport construction debris from area to transfer station
  • Receive, store and inventory materials for Housing Operations Assistant storerooms
  • Prepare student rooms for Fall opening

Qualifications:

  • Class D license preferred 
  • Ability to lift heavy objects
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality 

Special Projects Crew

Starting salary: Consistent with Massachusetts minimum wage
AY Work Schedule:  Flexible shifts M-F 7:00am-3:00pm
Summer Work Schedule: M-F 7:00am-3:00pm 37.5 hours per week

Duties include:

  • Grounds work such as mowing, raking, gardening, weeding, plant bed creation/maintenance, mulching, planting flowers, shrubs and occasional trees, pruning and snow/ice removal
  • Assisting full-time trades to remove construction debris from halls and apartments, moving furniture and equipmenr, delivery of bins and other requested activity that will provide service to our primary stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • Class D license preferred 
  • Ability to lift heavy objects
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality 
  • Ability to work outside in inclement weather

Key Office Assistant

Starting salary: Consistent with Massachusetts minimum wage
AY Work Schedule: Flexible shifts M-F 7:00am-3:00pm
Summer Work Schedule:  M-F 7:00am-3:00pm 37.5 hours per week

Duties include:

  • General office duties such as answering telephones, sorting mail, filing, scanning and copying documents, data entry, and various projects as needed
  • Distributing keys and performing key audits
  • Escorting contractors and off campus partners into occupied buildings

Qualifications:

  • Customer service skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
