Biography
Lorraine James is the Green Office Eco-Leader for the Information Resources Management (IRM) department in the University Libraries. IRM includes 28 people who work in a variety of ways in four units; Integrated Library Systems, Materials Management Team, Bibliographic and Metadata Unit and Acquisitions. Due to the diversity of activities taking place in IRM, Lorraine asked for input from everyone when looking at ways the office could become more sustainable. She not only learned a lot about what her co-workers do but feels that The Green Office Initiative was a fun, interesting and productive way to bring everyone together around one issue. As the library's Book Repair Coordinator, Lorraine repairs materials from the general circulating collection, coordinates preservation activities and prepares books for digitization.
