Ezra Small, the new Sustainability Manager at the University of Massachusetts, is a western Massachusetts native, a UMass, Amherst alum (07G), and has just relocated from Philadelphia, PA where he was working with the Delaware Valley Green Building Council. Ezra will be fostering a culture of sustainability by coordinating efforts for the UMass Sustainability Initiative. He will chair the Chancellor’s Environmental Performance Advisory Committee (EPAC) and work on many other projects, including an effort to increase campus recycling rates and a Green Office program.
Ezra hopes to increase the visibility of sustainability on campus and engage the University population in an informative way. He’d like to see sustainability incorporated into the university‘s undergraduate curriculum and will collaborate with active committees working on food systems, transportation and green building projects.
