The Sustainability Steering Commmittee was assembled in January of 2011 as part of the reorganization of the Campus Sustainability Initiative. Representatives from the Student Government Associaition, including the Secretary of Sustainability, senior members of the Sustainability Initaitive Intern program, Green Building researchers, UMass Permaculture leadership and the Eco-Rep Program Manager populate the committee.
Ultimately, the SSC serves as a coordinatng group to keep all represented organizations updated on plans for future events and various projects currently underway. This sort of consultation will ideally lead to a greater trend of collaboration and support between groups with sustainable agendas.
