Provide Eco-Reps with an understanding of the interconnected nature of sustainability and how it applies to student life and society as a whole. Eco-Reps leave the Program able to engage in dynamic dialogue about these issues.
To reduce energy and resource use and the campus carbon footprint through sustainable behavior in the campus community.
To serve as a jump off point for students interested in sustainability; offering guidance and support in both their initial exploration of these issues, and acting as a feeder into the sustainability community as a whole here at UMass.
To utilize peer facilitation in hopes of increasing receptivity, self-discovery and student empowerment.
