Campus Sustainability Groups

The UMass Amherst Eco-Rep Program is a student- facilitated, educational program that teaches fundamentals of sustainability and environmental literacy.
EPAC is a collaborative group unifying students, faculty and staff to effectively institute changes throughout the UMass Amherst campus and to encourage an ongoing dialogue concerning sustainability and its importance to the campus community.
The Campus Sustainability Initiative Fellowship program awards participants college credits for work on sustainability related projects.
Representatives from diverse sustainability-related initiatives on campus meet bi-weekly to discuss individual projects, colective progress and opportunities for collaboration.
Permaculture, a merger of the words “permanent” and “culture”, is a vision for creating a more sustainable world. Permaculture is a regenerative design system that involves people working together to create ecological and edible landscapes, low-impact buildings, and sustainable communities and economies. It is based on thoughtful observation of the patterns and relationships found in nature.
