Position Announcement - Law & Society and Public Policy

The Department of Legal Studies and the Center for Public Policy and
Administration at the University of Massachusetts Amherst seek candidates for a
full-time, tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor of Legal Studies and
Public Policy starting September 1, 2006. Salary is competitive and based on
qualifications and experience.  Research in all aspects of public policy and
law & society will be considered, including US and non-US research agendas.
Applicants are required to have a Ph.D. or J.D., and ideally both. Candidates
should demonstrate significant promise in scholarly research and extramural
grant activity.  The position requires teaching with a broad, interdisciplinary
approach both introductory and specialized undergraduate courses in law &
society as well as undergraduate and graduate courses in public policy and
administration.  The successful candidate will be a joint appointment in CPPA
and Legal Studies with the tenure line in the Department of Legal Studies.
