NERSP & Legal Studies

Legal Studies is part of the New England
Regional Student Program (NERSP)

If you are an out-of-state student from within New England, please read the information on the Registrar's Page about the New England Regional Student Program (NERSP). Eligible students can receive a reduction in their tuition.

NERSP Information from the Registrar's Office

This page contains the nitty gritty information you need for declaring the NERSP, and information about deadlines for billing. You must speak with someone in the Registrar's Office to REQUEST NERSP status. Find out about billing status from them.

NERSP Information in the Admissions Page

NERSP Information in the Undergraduate Program Guide:

"Students who are legal residents of any of the other NEW ENGLAND states (ME, NH, VT, RI, CT) may be eligible for admission under the auspices of the New England Regional Student Program. The NERSP provides an opportunity to earn a degree in approved curricula not offered at the resident's own state institutions. Eligible students (entering freshmen or transfers) are charged the in-state tuition rate (plus 50%), so long as they remain in a major open to them under the NERSP. The $50 out-of-state application fee must be paid, however. For more information, contact the Admissions Office or the New England Board of Higher Education, 45 Temple Place, Boston, MA 02111."

For Prospective Majors There are no prerequisites for becoming a Legal Studies major. If you are uncertain about making the change, consider taking Legal Studies 250 (available to sophomores, juniors, seniors only). Legal Studies is part of the College of Social and Behevarial Sciences and consequently requires a 15 credit Global Education Requirement. Please note that Legal Studies does not havea minor, and upper level classes are open to non-majors only as space permits. /more/
