Netherlands 2002; Fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects.
Instructor of courses: "Plants in the Landscape" , "Landscape
Pattern and Process", and Landscape Design and Landscape Planning
Studios.
Received a Fulbright Award for teaching and research in Portugal
in
1997. Has co-edited two books: "Greenways the Beginning of
an
International Movement" with Julius Fabos, (1995) and "Environmental
Challenges in an Expanding Urban World and the Role of information
Technologies" with Joao Reis Machado (1997). Author of "Guidebook
to
the Landscape Architecture of Boston"(1999) which received
awards from
the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) and Boston Chapter
of the ASLA. Received 2002 ASLA Honor Award for "Greenways
as
Strategic landscape Planning: theory and application" .
Research interests include ecological basis for landscape planning
and
design , and plant ecology and design.
