Peter Kumble

Peter Kumble is a landscape architect and environmental planner with extensive experience in the fields of community planning, natural resource management and, the day to day operation of a professional consulting firm.

Peter received his academic training through a Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Arizona (1988) and Bachelor of Arts Degree in Environmental Planning from Antioch College (1980).

Prior to joining the faculty at the University of Massachusetts, Peter taught as an Assistant Professor at Utah State University and was the principal partner in a nationally recognized landscape architecture and planning consulting firm based in Ann Arbor, Michigan; The Johnson Hill – Land Ethics Studio, Inc.

Peter has focused his professional career on developing broad-based land protection and sustainable land use planning approaches and promoting techniques that foster effective resource conservation. Recent research has focused on mitigating the user impacts associated with Eco Tourism on sensitive resources in third-world countries.
