LARP faculty members teach and research across a wide spectrum of topics and methods, from quantitative social sciences to public art installations. We recognize and value the creativity of exhibitions, built projects, award-winning designs, and community plans. We also value and recognize the rigor of peer reviewed scholarship, careful and innovative research, and planning and policy analysis. Our focus on sustainability means that we combine next-generation science with new technologies, but also apply the lessons of history and multiple cultures to find our best insights into the future. Much of our work occurs through collaborating with communities, and all of our work keeps an eye on justice and empowerment, seeking to serve multiple publics and support diversity in our students and our communities. Through our teaching and our research, we share with our students our excitement about our work and its place in the wider world.
