The James Rose Center for Landscape Architectural Research and Design is a non-profit educational corporation dedicated to preserving and building upon the legacy of one of the key initiators of the modern landscape architectural movement in the United States, James Rose. The Center is located in Ridgewood, New Jersey, in the house and gardens that James Rose lived and worked in until his death in 1991.
The James Rose Center is administered by a Board of Trustees, hand-picked by Rose before his death. The Director of the James Rose Center is Dean Cardasis, who operates u nder the control of the Board, with the additional aid of three consulting organizations; an Advisory Council, the Department of Landscape Architecture at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and the Garden Conservancy.
