Travis Schultz moved to Guatemala City at the beginning of November to help start AbonOrgániCo, a non-profit whose goal is to supply part-time jobs to at-risk youth from impoverished communities within Guatemala City. To do this, AbonOrgániCo will take organic waste from the Central Market in Guatemala City and produce high-quality compost. This project started as a field studies class in March of 2009 and developed into Travis’s thesis. See the studio report (click 32 MB) and the current newsletter (click 523 KB) for more information.
