Little Red Riding Hood- Sample translation in English. You can use Alta-Vista translator to translate between varius language pairs.

             (An exercise for German 120)

Once upon a time there was a girl named Little red Riding Hood, because her grandmother gave her a red hood, which she wore everyday.

One day her mother said, "Your grandmother is sick and laying in bed. Go to her and bring her a piece of cake and a bottle of wine."

Rotkäppchen took the basket, put on the red hood, and said, "Bye, mom!"

She went through the forest, and saw a wolf. The wolf asked her, "Where are you going ?"

And she answered, "I am going to visit my grandmother."

And the wolf asked, "What do you have in your basket?"

The girl said, "Cakes and wine for my grandmother."

              " Why? ", he asked.

And he answered, "My Grandmother is ill."

Then the wolf said, " Oh, I it saddens me!", and ran away.

But the wolf went to the grandmother first, and he gobbled the grandmother.
Then the wolf put on the clothing of the grandmother and went to bed.

Little Red Riding Hood came into the house and looked at the grandmother. But the
              grandmother looked terrible.

Little Red Riding Hood asked, "Grandmother, why do you have such large eyes?"

The wolf answered, "So I can see you better!"

It asked, "Why do you have such large ears?"

The wolf answered, "So I can hear you better!"

It asked, "why do you have such a large mouth?"

The wolf answered, "So I can grab you better!". Then the wolf grobbled Little Red Riding Hood as well.

That was the end of the first part of the story.
