RMLands: Rocky Mountain Landscape Simulator



This page is where you download the RMLands software.


The RMLands software is in the public domain, and the recipient may not assert any proprietary rights thereto nor represent it to anyone as other than an University of Massachusetts-produced program. NOTE, RMLands was not developed for public distribution. Consequently, the documentation is not sufficient for most users to be able to run the software. This site was designed principally to facilitate the exchange of the software between developers and sponsors. Hence, we do not provide technical support for persons other than our project sponsors that download and attempt to use this software.

RMLands and other required open source software (Firebird) can be downloaded from the links below. Note, RMLands also requires a valid installation of ArcView Spatial Analyst or ArcGIS. Complete computer hardware and software requirements, including important installation instructions, are provided here. Read this first before downloading the software.

This zip file contains a single executable file of the latest software release. This is a windows-based application designed for use with ArcView Spatial Analyst or ArcGIS. 2.72 mb 12/17/2009 Firebird 1.5.6 software
This zip file contains a single executable file of the Firebird software. Firebird is a relational database and is open-source freeware. It is the database engine that RMLands uses to store and manage the output data from the simulation. Firebird must be installed before RMLands.
