CAPS Overview (July 2001) (29 slides)

This slide presentation (with speaker notes) provides a general overview of the CAPS approach. Specifically, it describes the major components of this project, the justification and need for this work, the details of our approach, and the potential applications of this tool. Note, this is an abreviated presentation--almost an abstract. There are two more detailed presentations on our approach (associated with land cover mapping and the use of biodiversity filters) that can viewed if desired in separate browser windows at the appropriate points in the presentation (slide 18 and 20).

CAPS Summary (July 2006) (31 slides)

This slide presentation (without speaker notes) provides an updated limited summary of the CAPS approach. Specifically, the current overall approach is described with an emphasis on the ecological integrity metrics and their integration into a single compound index. Details on the land cover mapping and potential applications of the results are not included. This was a presentation to a select advisory committee given in July 2006.
