Nominations for the your 2009 Key Player Ambassadors are due Thursday, December 3rd! December is nearly upon us; make sure you nominate the Key Player in your life so that they can be recognized for the hardwork and dedication that they provide to the youth in Springfield!
10.01.2009 Partnership with Springfield Armor!
The Key Players Project is pleased to announce our new partnership with the Springfield Armor. The Springfield Armor is a team within the NBA's Development Leage (D-League) and plays at the Mass Mutual Center. We are excited about this new partnership because it allows us to honor the Key Player Ambassadors where they are making a difference - in Springfield.
12.08.2008 Montenia's Reception
The Key Players Project cordially invites you to join us in congratulating and honoring this year's most outstanding men of color from the Springfield community as 2009 Key Player Ambassadors. This Friday, December 12, 2008 at Montenia's Restaurant located on 137 State Street in Springfield, Mass. Dinner and ceremony start at 6:00PM, with dessert and cash bar to follow. Congratulations! The first ceremony honoring these men will be Friday, December 12, 2008 at Montenia’s on State Street in Springfield. Key Players are invited to bring a maximum of five guests to this event. On the agenda is a buffet dinner with catfish, chicken, and side dishes as well as a cash bar. The invitation, as well as much more information, will be coming in the mail very shortly. A representative from the class will also be contacting you by telephone. 12.01.2008 Nominations Due This Friday!
December is already upon us! Where has the year gone? Nominations close this Friday, December 4th, so make sure that you encourage children in your life to fill them out and drop them off at the library! You can also nominate by e-mail or through this website. Also, if you are a past ambassador and would like to be part of the selection committee, it will take place at 12:00 on Saturday, December 5, 2008 at Forest Park. Here's a link to our Key Players' commercial on YouTube. Watch for it on ABC40 and FOX! Make sure you nominate, or encourage a child to nominate, a man of color doing great things in Springfield. You can nominate Key Players through this website, by email, or by filling out a form at your local community center or library.

Be sure to check out our endorsement with Derek Kellogg on radio stations in the Springfield area. Also, a Key Players’ commercial will be aired throughout the next week on ABC40 and FOX. Also, check out local convenience stores and places of worship for bookmarks, flyers, and nomination forms. Why all the press? WE NEED NOMINATIONS!
11.06.2008 Springfield & UMass Unite
On Friday, November 7, at 1:00 p.m. officials from the University of Massachusetts and the City of Springfield will announce a memorandum of agreement at Old First Church (50 Elm St., Springfield). This partnership is designed to revive Springfield’s economy. This official alliance only strengthens the Key Players Project position within the UMass and Springfield communities. Springfield residents are encouraged to attend!
The Key Players Project also received its first media coverage of the year in The Springfield Republican this Wednesday, November 5. Check us out!
