- What is the Key Players Project?
The objective of the Key Players Project is to honor men of color who are quietly contributing to children and to increase the awareness of many contributions that these men are making in the Springfield community. Men of color are rarely acknowledged for the work they do with children and are often unfairly stigmatized.
How long has it been around?
The Key Players Project is in its 7th year.
Who has been nominated?
Check out our past ambassadors page Who can be nominated? Any men of color from Springfield, MA who has affected a child’s life.
How can I nominate someone?
You can fill out a nomination form at a local library, community center or barber shop. You may also nominate someone here on our website. Also, you can send your nominations by email.
I am older than 24, but would like to nominate someone still, how can I do this?
If you would like to nominate someone but are older than 24, talk to a younger person about how they can nominate an individual that has touched their life and maybe they will nominate the person you were thinking of!
Where are the recipients of the Key Players Project recognized?
They are recognized during the halftime of a Celtics Game in Boston and a UMass Minutemen game at the Mass Mutual Center iin Springfield, as well as a ceremony in Springfield, MA.
