"I wish I could stay forever. There really is no place like Juniper. Being in a community of creators is unlike anything I've ever experienced, and I found inspiration in everything because of it."
"Hearing the writing styles of other participants broadened my mind to go beyond what I normally write about. Working with writers that have different styles can affect how you write because writers need other writers to thrive and grow. This is a community that you want to hold on to and never let go of."
"Hearing all these people so in love with what I love changed everything."
"Never in my life have I been part of such a kind and generous community, not to mention talented! My fellow participants made up half of my Juniper experience."
"I really valued the unique forms of expression we learned in our studio sessions. These experiences helped me greatly with generating new work and creating new meaning out of the old."

New this year, our program will take place July 22-29, making the Institute an option for more students. We’ll also be using the air-conditioned dormitories of the Commonwealth Honors College and state-of-the-art classroom facilities at the newly renovated South College building.
Stay tuned to our new website and our mailing list for more information on programming and scholarships. Applications for the 2018 session will open January 1, 2018. Teachers are welcome to nominate their students through our easy to use nomination form. Students should apply by March 1 to be considered for scholarship support.
Enjoy exploring the site, and we hope to see you this summer!
"It was incredibly refreshing to meet a whole host of young writers who I immediately clicked with. Juniper offered me with a support system for the future to fall back on whenever I need an extra boost of confidence (whether it be in my personal life or with my writing). All in all, I learned a lot about myself as a writer and even more so about myself as a person." —JIYW ParticipantMore Testimonials »
