The Lawrence Dana Pinkham Memorial Scholarship was established to help Journalism students who wish to study abroad. To apply, download and complete the application.
The scholarship honors Larry Pinkham, who served as chair of UMass Journalism from 1976 to 1981. He also taught at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and in China and India where he helped establish English-language journalism programs at major academic institutions.
All Journalism majors who plan to study abroad next year are eligible to receive a $1,000 scholarship to help offset some expenses. The deadline to apply is April 1, 2013.
Applicants must be participating in programs approved by the UMass International Programs Office. Students will be selected based on financial need and/or academic excellence, with a committee choosing recipients in the spring semester for study abroad programs during the following year.
