In the days after James Villalobos graduated from UMass in 2017, he embarked on a cross-country road-trip. His desitination was Chico, California, where he was offered an on-air reporting job for Action News Now. In May 2018, after a year with Action News Now, Villalobos made the cross-country trip home to Springfield to accept the positon of reporter at Western Mass News.
