15 MARCH

• Arrival, Palermo Airport
• Meet our tour escort Rosa Rizza and our driver Mario Filì and transfer to Marinella
• Accommodations in the Grand Hotel Selinunte (4-star)
• Dinner in the hotel and overnight

16 MARCH

• Breakfast in the hotel
• Visit Palazzo Adriano where Cinema Paradiso was filmed
• Then a visit to the Planeta Estate in Sambucca di Sicilia
• Light lunch and tasting at Planeta
• Return to the hotel
• Dinner in the Hotel

17 MARCH

• Breakfast in the hotel
• Depart for Segesta to visit the archaeological park
• Seafood lunch in Castelemare del Golfo
• On to Palermo for a guided tour of the Palatine Chapel
• Transfer to Campofelice di Rocella and the Hotel Fiesta Garden Beach (4-star)
• Dinner in the hotel and overnight

18 MARCH

• Breakfast in the hotel
• Depart for a full-day visit to Cefalù and Castelbuono
• Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight

19 MARCH

• Breakfast in the hotel
• Drive through Madonie Mountains with a stop in Alimena to taste typical local foods We'll be guided by our driver Mario Filì !! (Mario was born here.)
• Continue south to the UNESCO World Heritage city of Noto
• Accommodations in Agriturismo Masseria degli Ulivi
• Dinner in the farmhouse and overnight

20 MARCH

• Breakfast in the farmhouse
• Work day (no excursions)
• Lunch and olive oil tasting
• Dinner in Ristorante Kitch (Rosa's son's restaurant)
• Return to the farmhouse and overnight

21 MARCH

• Breakfast
• Depart for the spectacular Catania open market.
• Proceed up Mt. Etna and stop for lunch on the volcano.
• Visit Mt. Etna (1900m – Sylvester crater area)
• Transfer to our hotel in Taormina - Hotel Villa Diodoro
• Dinner and overnight

22 MARCH

• Breakfast in the hotel
• Visit Taormina and the famous Greek Theatre
• Lemon themed lunch in Ristorante A Zammara
• Afternoon at leisure
• Dinner in the hotel
• Overnight

23 MARCH

Reality check ― fly home from Catania to Boston, and transfer by bus back to UMass.
