The Online Journalism Certificate Program

Program Requirements

The Certificate of Online Journalism requires access to
a computer and at least a 56K modem. Broadband is
best, but we understand that not everyone has access.

You also must have a UMass e-mail account, which
you are entitled to as a Certificate student.

In order to earn the Certificate of Online Journalism,
you must complete five courses in the program and
one of them must be Newswriting & Reporting.

Upon successful completion of your courses we
will award a Certificate of Online Journalism. Your
coursework will be transferable to the Journalism
major and many other campus programs. If you
are a University Without Walls student, you should
check with your advisor as to how the Certificate
may be integrated into your UWW program of study.
