BDIC, a program that allows students to create majors not otherwise offered at the University of Massachusettes, has permitted me to focus on two things I've always enjoyed: photography and writing. This semester I learned a great deal about the World Wide Web and other Internet technologies. Web sites that have helped me in my major include:

In December of 1995, I ventured on a photojournalism trip to Mexico with 17 students and two professors I previously had not known through a class called 395M, photojournalism in Yucatan, Mexico. Our group was led by Norman Sims, professor and chair of the journalism department and Richard B. Newton, program director and adjunct lecturer of the journalism department. One place we visited was
I met great friends, excellent professors and discovered a small part of my major. The photos happen to be my most recent photographic work. Maybe you'll even learn a bit about Mexico.
