PEER ADVISING

Is there anything you wanted to know about the Journalism major, but didn't know who to ask? Do you have general questions about your UMass experience that you wanted answered? If you have questions about: Journalism courses, getting involved with student media, internships, double majors and minors, Gen eds, Global eds, Commonwealth College, Five College exchange, studying abroad as a journalism major, or anything else that's on your mind, contact Journalism major peer advisers Parisa Saranj, Leslie Byford and David Humphreys to answer your questions along.

ACADEMIC ADVISING

The chief undergraduate advisor for Journalism is Barbara McGlynn. We strongly encourage you to be in touch with her on a regular basis. Barbara is the advisor for all Journalism majors, including freshmen and sophomores who may have not yet begun to take Journalism courses. Students should also be sure they receive the Journalism Major News emails that are sent out periodically with program news and events. Barbara’s office is in 108 Bartlett Hall. Walk-ins are welcome; appointments are not required but can be arranged.
