Aims & Scope

The Journal of the History of Childhood and Youth (JHCY) is a scholarly, peer-reviewed journal focused on the history of childhood and youth cultures and the experiences of young people across diverse times and places.  We seek original articles based on empirical research as well as essays that place contemporary issues of children and youth in a historical context.  The editors encourage submissions from those working across the range of historical methodologies, and from scholars in other disciplines with historical interests in children and youth. The JHCY is the official journal of the Society for the History of Children and Youth (SHCY).
