The Experience of LGBT People with Religion
A panel discussion of the challenges faced by lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transgender people within various religions. Panelists were Faisal Alam, Founder of Al-Fatiha, an International LGBT Muslim organization; Rabbi David Dunn Bauer, Jewish Community of Amherst; Kathleen Boucher, researcher on LGB Catholics; Chris McMillan, co-director of the Multicultural Resource Center at Amherst College; and Winnie Nazarko, a Buddhist teacher at the Insight Meditation Society (2/11/09)

Film: "Young, Jewish and Left"
A celebration of diversity, this documentary weaves Jewish Arab history, secular Yiddishkeit, queer culture, and religious/spiritual traditions into a multi-layered tapestry of Leftist politics. Filmmaker Konnie Chameides spoke after the screening at Food For Thought Books in Amherst (4/9/08)

Performance: "It's Better in Amharic"
Black History Month celebration. A hilarious and poignant one-man play by Ethiopian-Israeli Yossi Vassa, who acts out his travels from Ethiopia to his new home in Israel, exploring what it means to be a Jew in Ethiopia and an African in Israel (2/5/08)

In Conversation with Tony Kushner
The Pulitzer Prize-winning author of Angels in America—a landmark play about the politics of AIDS—and the screenplay for Munich, Kushner is one of America's cultural icons, and its conscience.
