The IT Minor is intended to supplement focused study in a student's major discipline.
The IT Minor recognizes and celebrates the diversity of students who wish to pursue IT.
No one course is prescribed; students choose from a wide-ranging set.
To ensure a coherent, well-rounded minor that is esteemed by employers and graduate programs,
the IT Minor comprises 18 credits in total, structured as follows:
1. One "Foundations Course" prerequisite. You may petition for exemption from
this requirement.
2. At least two "Technical Courses" representing at least two of the technical
subcategories
3. At least one "Broadened Inquiry" course.
4. Courses from any category except "Foundations" to bring the total credits beyond the Foundations course(s) to 15.
At least two of the courses in the Minor must be taken outside the student's major department. Students may count elective requirements and any one non-elective requirement of their majors to the IT Minor. All courses must be taken on a graded basis, and the cumulative GPA for the IT Minor must be at least 2.0.
