About

The ICT Summit 2011 goal is to introduce attendees to open source methodologies and investigate how educators can cultivate a ‘1st Class Education’ from the open source production model. Open source is a paradigm for production and development that promotes access to a product’s source materials.

Another aspect of open source practices is to operate transparently and ,optionally, with some level of community involvement. More commonly, the term open source has been afforded to computer software, but there are a wide variety of initiatives, such as M.I.T.’s Open Courseware Program, that use these practices.

Openness = Innovation
