Join Us

We encourage UMass Amherst faculty and staff with interest in Information Technology to join us. Approximately 70 faculty and staff contribute to our IT Program in a variety of ways, such as program leadership, standing or ad hoc committee work, or teaching courses in the IT curriculum. In return for our contributions, we build relationships with others from across campus that benefit our students and ourselves. Please contact if you are interested in learning more.

The value of our IT Minor is directly related to the quality and diversity of the IT courses on campus. Students choose courses that are relevant to them from a list of pre-approved courses that comprise our IT Minor curriculum. If you teach or are developing a course that might be appropriate for IT Minor students, please consider adding it to our course list. To do this, you may contact us or fill out a course addition form.

Update Courses

The course profiles in this site are an important resource for our IT Minors. There is no greater satisfaction that we hear about the IT Minor than the experience in a class that was a perfect fit. Unfortunately, the reverse is true as well. Please help the students choose the right courses for them by keeping your profile up-to-date. You may note the changes in which ever manner is most convenient to you, and send them to us. Thanks.

Send Students Our Way

Most students learn about our program by word of mouth. Our polling indicates that the IT Minor has broad appeal. It's an easy sell: students can choose a major their passionate about and develop an IT Minor that complements their major and career aspirations. However, our experience shows that students typically enroll after encouragement a friend, teacher, or advisor. Please send students that you think would be well served by the IT Minor first to this website and then to have a conversation with the program advisor In this visit, students can learn about how the IT Minor can be shaped to meet their needs. If you would like some promotional literature to hand out to your students, please let us know. Thanks.
