Term
From the Term drop-down list, select a term. The default is the latest term with an available Schedule.
Use at least two search criteria
Tip: To display all classes in a subject for the selected term, select the Course Subject, clear the Show Open Classes Only check box, and set Course Number to greater than or equal to a.
Class Number vs. Course Number
Class Number: a 5-digit number used as a unique identifier for a course. All components of a class (e.g., lectures, discussions, labs, etc.) have their own Class Numbers. Use the Class Number (not the Course Number) to add, drop, or swap classes. Class Numbers change from one term to the next (even for the same class).
Course Number: the number that identifies a course in the Catalog (typically has 3 digits, but may also include letters). For example, 118 in COMM 118 or 391B in COMP-LIT 391B.
Show Open Classes Only
This check box is selected by default; in this case, search results only include classes with available seats. Clear this check box if you wish to see all classes, both open and closed.
Session: Distinguish between University and University Without Walls (UWW) classes
Use the Session options to distinguish between University-scheduled classes and classes offered through University Without Walls. Note: Matriculated University students may be eligible to self-enroll in UWW classes using SPIRE. Eligibility for UWW self-enrollment varies by term and class. Read more about UWW self-enrollment. Students who are eligible to self-enroll must have a UWW Enrollment Appointment before they can do so. In SPIRE, go to Main Menu>Enrollment>Summer/Wtr/Non-deg Enroll Appt to request a new summer or winter term appointment or to view an existing appointment. All other students can use SPIRE only to view UWW classes and must contact University Without Walls directly to register.
