Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2016: Take the Phishing Challenge!

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month! In support of this national initiative, UMass Amherst IT is sponsoring a number of activities designed to help the UMass Amherst community stay safe online. This year, we focus on phishing, online scams that ‘phish’ for your personal and financial information (e.g., your passwords, Social Security Number, bank account information, credit card numbers, or other personal information).

Cellular Phone Calls over Wireless - Some Recommendations

Many cellular carriers are starting to permit cellular calls to be carried on wireless (on compatible phones) when their cell signal is weak. While this can be a convenience, there are some things to watch out for:

Inbox by Gmail Now Available for Apps at UMass Amherst Users

Inbox by Gmail, a new opt-in service by Google, is now available to Apps at UMass Amherst users. This new features allows users to organize their Inbox in several new ways including setting reminders, grouping messages, creating labels and much more. All UMass Amherst undergraduates have Apps at UMass Amherst.
