August 31, 2018

4:00 p.m.

The message delivery issues affecting Microsoft Exchange reported earlier today have been resolved. Members of the campus community using Microsoft Exchange email and calendaring can now successfully send emails to other UMass Amherst email services.

We thank you for your patience as we addressed this service interruption. If you continue to experience problems with your Microsoft Exchange account, please contact IT User Services at 413-545-TECH (8324) or it@umass.edu.

1:30 p.m.

The Microsoft Exchange email and calendaring service is expected to be fully restored by 5 p.m. today, Friday, August 31.

11:30 a.m.

UMass Amherst IT postmasters have identified the root cause of the email delivery issues affecting Microsoft Exchange. We are working to implement a fix as soon as possible. Please check back for updates.

11:00 a.m.

UMass Amherst Information Technology (IT) is aware of message delivery issues from our Microsoft Exchange email service to other UMass Amherst email services.

Members of the campus community using Microsoft Exchange may receive bounce-back error messages when attempting to send emails to UMail, UMass Amherst Google Mail or other UMass departmental email services.

Our postmasters are actively working to resolve these issues. If you have any concerns, please contact IT User Services at 413-545-TECH (8324) or it@umass.edu.
