Scheduled Maintenance: SPIRE & Other IT Services Unavailable - Fri., 10/7 - Tue., 10/11

SPIRE and other IT services will unavailable between 5 p.m. on Friday, October 7, 2016 until 8 a.m. on Tuesday, October 11 while UMass Amherst Information Technology performs system maintenance. The following services will be unavailable:

Inbox by Gmail Now Available for Apps at UMass Amherst Users

Inbox by Gmail, a new opt-in service by Google, is now available to Apps at UMass Amherst users. This new features allows users to organize their Inbox in several new ways including setting reminders, grouping messages, creating labels and much more. All UMass Amherst undergraduates have Apps at UMass Amherst.

Intermittent Moodle Issues Resolved - Wed., 9/28

Some Moodle users were unable to log in and use Moodle between 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, September 27 and 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2016. UMass Amherst IT has identified and resolved these issues. To ensure uninterrupted service and address any other issues that may arise, we will continue to test and monitor the system for the remainder of the week. If you have any problems using Moodle, please call the UMass IT Help Center at 545-TECH (8324) or email it@umass.edu.

Annual Password Changes for IT Subsidiary Accounts Now Required

Starting on September 19, 2016, UMass Amherst Information Technology will require that passwords for IT subsidiary accounts be changed once a year. Subsidiary accounts are additional accounts that faculty and staff can request for departmental or academic projects, cross-group collaborations, student employees, service/application accounts, and other purposes. See the Subsidiary Accounts page for additional information on subsidiary accounts. 

Building Network Upgrades To Begin in the W.E.B. Du Bois Library Area of Campus on Mon., 9/12

Starting the week of September 12, 2016, UMass Amherst Information Technology (IT) will be performing network upgrades in buildings located in the W.E.B. Du Bois area of campus (the list of affected buildings is available below). Some users may experience connectivity outages between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. on the day IT staff are in their building. Outages will occur if you are connecting to the campus network using equipment (a.k.a. network switch) that is not compliant with current required standards.
