TechTalk: Intro to Audio Descriptions

August 10, 2017 - 12:00pm to 1:00pm

Digital Brown Bag Event Series

Video is a great way to engage students in learning, but it is important to include everyone. Due to changes in compliance and expectations around video accessibility, audio descriptions are gaining more mainstream traction. Similar to the use of closed captions for individuals who are deaf and hard-of-hearing, video descriptions provide auditory narration of visual information for individuals who are blind or have low vision.

Bring your lunch and join us for this Digital Brown Bag where we will cover the following:

  1. What are audio descriptions?
  2. What standards exist for creating successful audio descriptions?
  3. Examples of, and hands-on practice with, the creation of audio descriptions.
