TechTalk: Creating a student-staffed support service

April 27, 2017 - 12:00pm to 1:00pm

Digital Brown Bag Event Series

See how a small, part-time graduate student group supports the instructional innovation and design needs for 1,500+ instructors, the technology needs for 2,500+ courses, and the updates for 150+ documentation pages every year (with staff assistance). We will discuss how student consultants are hired and trained, and how we create a culture of learning and teamwork that builds confidence around the vast body of technical and institutional knowledge that consultants are expected to learn. We will cover our internal and external support philosophies and our tools for de-escalation, expectations management, and client support.
