Dataverse

The Dataverse Network is a data archive service hosted by the Institute for Quantitative Social Science at Harvard University. The goal of the Dataverse project is to help all social scientists store and share their data in order to encourage replication of hypothesis testing, and also to ensure that original investigators will be properly credited for their work. Previous examples of successful data sharing projects include the download of over 5,000 databases containing election information from 43 states, and the creation of Dataverse accounts by journals to allow authors to upload datasets associated with published papers. Dataverse accounts are free to all interested social scientists. Interested parties should go here for terms of use and account creation information. The Dataverse website also lists a number of presentations regarding the use of Dataverse in several different disciplines. The UMass Medical School and several faculty members at UMass Amherst utilize this service.
