The Gender Wage Gap at UMass Amherst: A Cross-Sectional and Longitudinal Analysis of Tenure Track Faculty [2] is a first-of-its-kind analysis of salary equity at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, based on faculty salary data from 2003-2015.
The Institute for Social Science Research (ISSR) conducted the study in response to a need identified by the University Provost’s Office and the Massachusetts Society of Professors. The research team led by ISSR Director Laurel Smith-Doerr included Henry Renski, Associate Professor of Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning; Laras Sekarasih, at the time of the study a postdoctoral student at ISSR and currently Assistant Professor in Psychology at Universitas Indonesia; and. Rodrigo Dominguez-Villegas, a doctoral student in the Department of Sociology.
